Talented people..

Posted by Aiko in Blog

I’ve worked on TV show for UTB. I get to work with Fujii Takashi(from Lost in Translation.) He’s very big in Japan. There was a scene where he feeds me cooked mushroom. After the scene, he took away the toothpick I used (yuck, right?) and throw away. He’s so nice and talented. I also got to work with talented director Aki Kitamura. He’s extremely talented and nice too. I will let you know when it airs. I’ll be rockin mohikan like no tomorrow. Hot. If Tom Cruise can play “Last samurai.” I can be “The last of Mohicans” like daniel day Lewis.

    Hi Aiko,

If you could go back in time and star in any Kurosawa Akira film — which movie and role would you play?

    Best regards,
    Ken

    Which one would you be?

I was more of JUZO ITANI, KITANO TAKESHI fan.

Oh…Juzo Itani = “Tampopo”, right? Good flick. Kitano Takeshi = Mr. Cool. I remember him from “Sonatine” but can’t remember his other stuff. I haven’t seen many of their other movies, what would you recommend?

Fujii Takashi was soo funny in L.I.T. Look forward to seeing your show, good luck with that.

I was happy to shake hands once with Mifune Toshiro at a Berkeley film fest years ago. I stuck my hand out and surprised he shook my sweaty palm. I am grateful he did not spit on it.

The Kurosawa pic I’d choose is “Kakushi-toride no san-akunin” — and be Tahei/Chiaki Minoru or Matakishi/Fujiwara Kamatari. Two wretches trying to get by. To me, they had the best and funniest lines.

Kitano takeshi used to be a comedian. Now he’s director. Fujii takeshi is very talented, he was humming when he was in the car with me for his voice to warm up.( The writer for the tv show was crazy enough to let me drive him.)

Thanks for sharing that story! I’m sure the writer knew you were the sensible one who could drive him safely. Good luck with all that!
